Kingston,Jamaica (PRWEB) November 13, 2011
Broadband technology company Flow and international broadcasters ESPN, will host their second annual football clinics at the Trelawny Multipurpose Stadium, November 4 and 5, 2011, taking the event launched in 2010, to a higher level with the use of the latest in iFootball technology.
iFootball features an assessment tool which is used to measure a player?s overall technical ability and identify areas for improvement. Forty coaches and 100 school footballers from western Jamaica will participate in the two-day clinic which will see ESPN commentators and outstanding professional footballers Shaka Hislop and Robbie Earle sharing their expertise on field and assessments facilitated in a specially fitted iFootball classroom.
Bernard Stewart, General Manager ESPN Caribbean & Maritime Media, noted that ?the football clinics are one of the ways in which ESPN is giving back to communities across the Caribbean.?
He said that the clinics, held for the first time in Montego Bay last year, ?were an introduction to a programme designed to support the development of football in Jamaica through the assessment of skills and practices, techniques and coaching strategies and an interactive session with several world renowned footballers from ESPN.?
Some of the coaches and footballers trained last year, will also participate this year and Mr. Stewart noted ?this is particularly important as we seek to build on the skills that exist and expand the reach of the programme utilizing technology and training to unleash the players? full potential.?
Jeanette Lewis, Public Relations and Sponsorship Manager at Flow and an ESPN affiliate, said that ?Flow is very happy to leverage the expertise of ESPN football greats to help build the skills of both coaches and young players in Jamaica?.
She said that the partnership for the second consecutive year, was fully in line with Flow?s commitment to bringing the best of broadband technology to the island as well as investing in education, sport and culture.
Noting that Jamaican coaches had an introduction to iFootball online technologies last month when Flow and ESPN hosted a clinic led by US based ISoccer.org and Andre Virtue of Whole Life Ministries, Mrs. Lewis predicted that ?use of iFootball technology will fundamentally change and enhance how players and teams develop their talent.?
